In the last 10 years, various studies have been conducted in the world's leading institutions on the impact of meditation on a person. One of the most recent important studies was an experiment by scientists at the Harvard Institute, in which 160 people participated. Study participants had to practice meditation for 30 minutes every day for eight weeks.
One of the most recent important studies was an experiment by scientists at the Harvard Institute, in which 160 people participated. Study participants had to practice meditation for 30 minutes every day for eight weeks.
The participants in the experiment underwent brain MRI twice: before the start of the study and the second time after the participants had already completed the meditation course.
The scientists' conclusion is surprising: in just 8 weeks of meditation, the structure of the brain was literally rebuilt.
An analysis of MRI images showed that after 8 weeks of meditation, experiment participants had an increase in the density of gray matter in the area of the brain (hippocampus) responsible for memory and learning, as well as in areas of the brain responsible for for themselves - awareness, compassion and introspection.
If we summarize dozens more studies, then the short conclusions of the scientists will be the following:
meditation changes the structure of the brain,
enlarges the gray matter
improves memory and concentration,
effectively treats depression, stress, addictions, anxiety disorders,
increases immunity,
lowers blood pressure
reduces the risk of heart attack
develops compassion and love
We wish everyone health!
